After action report - Guyandotte, Western Virginia

A small squad traveled to Guyandotte to participate in the reenactment.  There were two street battles, one each on Saturday, and one on Sunday. Most of our squad survived the Saturday battle, but only one survived the carnage Sunday. Everyone that we met there treated us as if we were part of their family.
Good food was provided in ample quantities. Weather was cool, but dry, and during the days warmed up to the perfect temperature for killing Yankees. Three members of the 1st Tennessee joined us, as did our newest recruit - Grapeshot.
We also met  H.K. Edgerton, a black Southern heritage activist and former president of the NAACP's Asheville, North Carolina, branch. He runs the Southern Heritage 411 website, which is linked below.
